2009 oil of the Month: Organic Eucalyptus Lemon
 
Here at NHR we are privileged to experiment with a huge range of organic oils and experience their aroma, vibrancy and therapeutic effects at any given moment. We are able to explore which oils are appropriate for us as individuals and also at certain times in our lives as our circumstances change or as we embrace another seasonal shift. We would like to share some of our knowledge with you and so each month will 'introduce' an oil to our customers exploring some of the benefits. We would like to feature 'Organic Eucalyptus Lemon ' (Eucalyptus citriodora). As the name suggests, this Eucalyptus has a citrus quality much like Citronella and Lemongrass. A lemon-scented essential oil is obtained by steam-distillation from the Eucalyptus leaves. The essential oil found in the leaves has a strong, refreshing, citrus aroma with pleasant, soft undertones. The oil is considered to be mentally and physically energizing with antibacterial; antiseptic; antifungal; antiviral; decongestant and insect repelling properties. Add the oil to your household cleaning products to optimise cleaning and aroma. The oil also blends well with Rosemary and Lavender essential oils. Eucalyptus Lemon Essential oil should not be used with children under 3.
