The HIV Milimani Academy is an extrordinary project and worthy of support either financially or with your time and participation please read below.

 

NHR Organic Oils has bought a large Mill house in France to run retreats and seminars called the Mill Retreat Centre. 

The Mill Retreat Centre is based in a spectacular mill which has a beautiful ten acre lake with swans, surrounded by poplar and willow trees. It is in the middle of large overgrown grounds, full of wildlife: wild boar, deer, otters, trout and lots of brambles and wetland. It is a nature paradise.

 

We are all desperately in need of inner nourishment. This spectacular centre will provide a sanctuary for our bodies and souls on the deepest level. 

 

If you want to truly transform and are ready to work from your heart, than this is the place to come. Sincerity, joy, trust and maturity and letting the heart lead the way. 

 

I am also working on a hydro-electric generator to restart the old mill wheel, which is exciting and quite a technical challenge. I want to set up the retreat centre as a positive environmental example.

Please help NHR Organic Oils fund The Milimani Academy, which is located in Homa-Bay, a very remote region in Kenya. Its mission is to provide hope for children who have been orphaned by the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa. The school currently looks after over 80 orphaned children. It is in too remote a location for any government or charity funding.

 

The orphanage was set up, and is run by a retired teacher, Michael Odoula, who was awarded the prestigious UNEP Global 500 LAUREATE for outstanding practical environmental conservation achievements. Michael and his family work voluntarily for the project, using their own retirement benefits, time, energy and resources to provide the orphans with food, education, medical care, clothing and shelter. Most importantly of all, they provide a family environment in which the children can grow and flourish.

 

The Milimani Academy only needs to raise another £10,000 in 2009/10 to pay for all its teachers and medical costs and to fund four new projects: The Good Shepherd School, Child Sponsorship, Permaculture Initiatives, and The Homa-Bay Town Slums Project.

 

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO REACH THEIR TARGET FIGURE OF £10,000 which although in western terms is a relatively small amount, will actually fund 100% of the whole school AS WELL AS 100% fund four new large scale projects.

 

The money will help provide food, medical care, books and staff salaries and training. However, almost 4 out of 10 children in this region are affected by HIV and Aids and there are still thousands more children who are going without the vital care and support that they need. With the number of orphans increasing almost daily, extra funding is urgently required both to support the existing orphanage and to expand their services into the wider community. With this in mind, we have set up an optional donation box on our website. All money you donate will go directly to the orphanage - there are no administration fees at all, every £1 you give will go directly to the orphanage.
