Botanical Name - Thymus zygis

Aroma - Strong and herbaceous
 
Extraction - Steam distillation. Red thyme oil is a crude distillate and has a high phenol percentage. Mild thyme oil, on the other hand, is obtained by re-distilling the red oil and yields a lower phenol content.
 
Part of Plant - Flowering tops

Country of Origin - Spain

Chemical Constituents - Thymol, paracymene, gamma-terpinene

Caution - Practitioner advice is recommended before use. Avoid during pregnancy or with high blood pressure.
 
Uses - Powerful, warming and anti-microbial. Use sparingly.
