Story from Kolinka Zinovieff: About 5 years ago my dentist told me my gums were receding badly in various places and sent me to the periodontist and was adamant I needed deep gum tissue and root cleaning work, to avoid further tooth and bone loss, it was very serious they said! The procedure sounded fine and normal until I asked them what they actually did! It involves peeling back your gums or tearing them away from your teeth, to put it bluntly, then cleaning the bacteria and scale from the roots and re-stitching your gums back into place….. "ouch!" was my reaction. Apparently, this is a normal standard periodontal deep cleaning procedure. Anyway, I delayed it for 3 years with ever-increasing pressure from my dentist and further receding gums and threats of bone and tooth loss. " There is no alternative apart from losing your teeth and more bone loss” they all said in unison. Making me feel ever more irresponsible for the delay. It seems this condition runs in my family. I decided to do some research and experiments and created a NHR blend of very strong antibacterial and gum healing essential oils. And for two years Added 1-5 drops to toothbrush with toothpaste and brushed as normal and did this every two or three days for a month, then I stopped for one month, then restarted. I returning to my dentist after two years, he said I was the first patient he had ever seen whose gums had healed, and have started to grow back, and not recede further and even accepted I no longer needed to see a periodontist….. phew. Obviously, gum disease has many causes and we also have to look into stress, diet, exercise as well. But this new NHR Gum healing oil really helped me. View bigger... £33.87 Methyl eugenol (ME) is a naturally occurring compound found in oil distilled from rosa damascena (Otto) flowers. ME is an important bioactive compound with wide range of applications both in cosmetic and flavouring. However, at higher concentrations it can have some negative effects such as irritation to the skin. In regular Rose Otto you would expect to find 0.80 – 6% ME with the average being around 2%. Our low ME contains ≤ 0.5% and can be as low as 0.12% This is achieved by harvesting the rose blossoms at a specific stage of opening. The different stages of opening of the rose bud will yield different levels of ME in the oil distilled from it. Stages 3 and 4 rose flower buds (flower buds prior to the opening of petals) showed more than 5 times ME reduction and preservation of the relative content of the major rose oil compounds, compared to fully blown roses. The low ME Rose Otto oil has a sweet and mild aroma, more delicate than the Rose Otto oil distilled from the fully open rose blossoms. This specialist organic Rose Otto with a naturally low ME content makes it more suited to topical applications in beauty and skincare. It has not undergone any additional or artificial process to reduce the ME. Please note: Organic Rose is a specialist oil and at temperatures below 20c it can crystalize. Gentle warming is required to return to liquid. Please also be aware that 1ml & 2.5ml sizes come in a 5ml bottle so will not appear to be full. For this precious oil, we recommend to use a glass rod or similar such as a toothpick to extract the oil from the bottle rather than using the dropper.
