Rare & Precious Oils

Rare & Precious Oils

Our selection of rare and precious organic oils and absolutes are carefully sourced from countries offering the best in quality and fragrance, such as Morocco, Iran, Turkey and Egypt.

Jasmine and Rose blossoms and also Neroli buds are all harvested in a similar way - handpicked at dawn when the fragrance is at its very best. The conditions have to be perfect to preserve the scent molecules.

A lot of care and dedication goes into bringing you these exquisite oils. For example, around 1200 roses are used to make just 1ml of essential oil.

Organic Rose Otto Essential Oil 5% Blend (Rosa damascena/Helianthus annuus)

£26.28

Please support the Afghan Rose growers and their communities.
Due to the situation there the future of the Afghan Rose oil industry is uncertain. Opium Poppy farmers have been able to convert over to organic Roses under the P.A.L. project which develops ethical and sustainable livelihoods, which NHR supports. There are no guarantees this exquisite oil will be available in 2022 - so we would advise reserving what you may need now and for next year.
Please contact: info@nhrorganicoils.com

Organic Rose Otto is diluted in Organic Sunflower oil at a ratio of 5%

Aroma - Sensual, rosy, honey floral scent

Sunflower - EU

Chemical Constituents of the Rose Otto - Citronellol, geraniol, nerol

Uses Sweet and fragrant as a perfume, luxurious added to a bath, or nourishing applied to the face as a night oil.
One of our favourite ways to use this product is to massage a couple of drops just under the collar bones (both sides), usually there is a hollow area here, it is an area where many of us close in or contract ourselves around the heart (our shoulders hunch or become rounded). This technique supports us to open up the heart area, to become aware of when our bodies are contracting, and to be open to love.

Documentation - Please refer to the individual product documents for each separate ingredient.

GLC - As this is a blend in vegetable oil, the material is not suitable for GC analysis. We can provide the GLC for the Rose Otto.

*NEW* Organic Rose Otto Essential Oil - Low methyl eugenol (Rosa damascena)

£33.87

Methyl eugenol (ME) is a naturally occurring compound found in oil distilled from rosa damascena (Otto) flowers. ME is an important bioactive compound with wide range of applications both in cosmetic and flavouring. However, at higher concentrations it can have some negative effects such as irritation to the skin.

In regular Rose Otto you would expect to find 0.80 – 6% ME with the average being around 2%. Our low ME contains ≤ 0.5% and can be as low as 0.12%

This is achieved by harvesting the rose blossoms at a specific stage of opening. The different stages of opening of the rose bud will yield different levels of ME in the oil distilled from it. Stages 3 and 4 rose flower buds (flower buds prior to the opening of petals) showed more than 5 times ME reduction and preservation of the relative content of the major rose oil compounds, compared to fully blown roses.

The low ME Rose Otto oil has a sweet and mild aroma, more delicate than the Rose Otto oil distilled from the fully open rose blossoms.

This specialist organic Rose Otto with a naturally low ME content makes it more suited to topical applications in beauty and skincare. It has not undergone any additional or artificial process to reduce the ME.

Please note: Organic Rose is a specialist oil and at temperatures below 20c it can crystalize. Gentle warming is required to return to liquid.
Please also be aware that 1ml & 2.5ml sizes come in a 5ml bottle so will not appear to be full.
For this precious oil, we recommend to use a glass rod or similar such as a toothpick to extract the oil from the bottle rather than using the dropper.
