Note - The Latin name of Rosemary was changed in 2019 by the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) from Rosmarinus officinalis to Salvia rosmarinus
DNA genetic research in 2017 discovered that Rosemary is actually a type of sage (salvia), and is closely related to culinary sage (Salvia officinalis).
The common name Rosemary has remained the same. For more information see link https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/articles/misc/rosemary-becomes-a-sage. The Latin name Rosmarinus means sea dew and Rosemary loves to grow by the sea.
